Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!

I can’t believe we are already in June… where has the time gone this year?  I watched the movie “Machete” with my husband last night and created this card at the same time.  It was a funny movie, but only because it was so bad.  A good “B” movie, what beats it?  LOL…

My inspiration was the Greeting Farm “Farm Fresh” blog challenge (Get Sentimental) and sketch 120 at Card Patterns.  I loved the sketch, it was right up my alley and something quick that I could do in an evening (I am normally a SLOW cardmaker).  I chose to use chipboard to start the sentiment (Dad) and then finished it up by stamping the remainder of the sentiment (you’re absolutely fabulous) underneath and finished it on the inside by stamping, “no, really, you are!

Supplies:

  • The Greeting Farm rubber stamp (Oliver – Just for You)
  • My Mind’s Eye paper pad (Complete Boy)
  • Basic Grey chipboard
  • Kaiser Craft pearls
  • Sentiment (Stampin’ Up)
  • Button, Twine (Walmart)

Note:  I am selling a bunch of my Magnolia rubber stamps.  You can find them here!

Thanks for poppin’ by.

Finally, another card…

Finally, another card…

It seems like I haven’t posted in forever!  When we chose to build a house instead of buying an existing house and renovating it, we thought we were saving ourselves some work.  I wish someone would have warned me LOL!!  A new house is just as much work as any other.  We have to get the deck built, buy the interlock and do the walkways, eaves trough, pave the driveway, landscape and in the end, pray that our line of credit doesn’t run out….  Throw a full-time job in there for each of us, plus activities for the kids and you have two very busy people.  I made it a point to sit down at my craft table and create!  I really need to organize my pictures so that I can start on my scrapbooking again too.  Anyhow, I chose to participate in a challenge at Basic Grey Challenges because the colours they chose really spoke to me (Hot Pink, Lime Green and Brown/Kraft) and I needed to make a girlie birthday card.  I am also submitting this to Magnolia Stamp Lovers blog challenge because this week it is “Anything Goes”!

Supplies:

  • Basic Grey patterned paper (Lemonade)
  • Happy Birthday Stamp (Cats Life Press)
  • Mermaid (Magnolia rubber stamps)
  • Tilda Lace Doo-Hickey
  • Stickles

Time Flies

Time Flies

I can’t believe how long it has been since I last posted.  Unfortunately I have been busy as heck at home and work and by the time I get done I end up parked on the couch.   I think I will blame it on the lack of sunshine. It is at times like this that I miss the sunny skies of Manitoba.  Anyhow, I do have some cards to show you, they are cards I made for Stampotique for my Guest DT position.  I wish I could have contributed more, I guess I should be happy I was able to get out what I did.

Supplies:

  • K&Co patterned paper & tag (Wild Saffron)
  • Stampin’ Up sentiment stamp
  • May Arts ribbon
  • Stampotique rubber stamp (Rocky)
  • Ranger/Tim Holtz distress ink (Walnut Stain)

Seriously?

Seriously?

Woke up this morning to cold, miserable weather.  There is slush falling from the sky, it’s pretty safe to say I am not going outside today.  That being said, it’s already after lunch and I am still in my pajamas and only the first load of laundry on the go…

My second DT card was posted on the Stampotique challenge blog this past week.  Challenge #28 is to use newspaper/old book pages.  I created a simple card using Weasel and then used the accompanying “thank you” stamp on his sign.  I kept the card simple, wanted the focus on the stamp and the newsprint.

Thanks for poppin’ by :)

Die Cuttin’ Divas – 2 cuts

Die Cuttin’ Divas – 2 cuts

I am SO behind! This week is flying by! Ever have one of those days, weeks, months… LOL, where you never seem to get caught up? That is what April has meant to me. I was supposed to have sent in my taxes weeks ago, the folder is still sittin’ here *sigh*. On a positive note, the weather is perking up, the snow has melted and we started the cleanup of our backyard. The builders left a lot of fallen trees, plus we cut down a few dead ones and some suckers. Add that to the existing dead fall and you’ve got work. This is what our backyard looked like this past weekend, hoping to improve upon it this weekend.  Once that is done we will be repopulating with some Blue Spruce, Maple and fruit trees.

And here is my DT card from Die Cuttin’ Divas.  This weeks challenge was to use two cuts from two different cartridges, or two different anything.  I used my Cricut “Wilcard” to do the doily shaped card and then used the “Printing Press” font for the sentiment.  I also added a small border using the Magnolia Doohickey “Tilda Lace”.

Supplies:

  • Cricut cartridges (Wild Card, Printing Press)
  • Magnolia Doohickey (Tilda lace)
  • Magnolia patterned paper (Yummy Tummy)
  • Prima flower (Hygrangea)
  • Magnolia flower (roses)
  • Melissa Frances pearls
  • Martha Stewart punch (leaf)
  • Ranger/Tim Holtz distress ink (weathered wood)

Thanks for poppin’ by.
